In North Myrtle Beach, plans for a big new neighborhood are changing!

A company from Florida, The Klotz Group, originally wanted to build 804 homes and a shopping center near Highway 22 and Carolina Bays Parkway. But after four years of planning, the project has been downsized to:
613 homes (instead of 804)
🚫 No shopping center (it has been removed)
🏘️ Townhouses instead of five-story buildings

Mayor Marilyn Hatley said working with developers has helped to make the neighborhood less crowded. Some details still need to be sorted out, like garage sizes, utility connections, and property line rules before construction can officially start.

🚜 A workshop is planned soon so the city can go over the final details before giving the project full approval.
